Green blight

Last week I decided to prepare a miniature terrain for my Warhammer 40K Black Legion Chaos Space Marines Possessed, and I went for a green blight. I think it will feel nice with their horrific mutated aspects.

And so, here it is:

Two Warhammer 40K Chaos Daemons Bloodletters standing on a green terrain that looks like a wet green blight, made with XPS foam.

However, you may have noticed that the miniatures standing on it are not Chaos Possessed, but Khorne Bloodletters… Well, at least I went for a greenish colour scheme for their swords. ^^

But that’s because here is the state of my poor (nearly) unpainted Possessed:

Five Warhammer 40K Black legion Chaos space marines Possessed, unpainted, standing on cardboard.

As you can see I still need to paint them, they are still standing on a cardboard where I planned my green blight terrain.

For the record, after this cardboard step, here is the next one:

Five Warhammer 40K Black legion Chaos space marines Possessed, unpainted, standing on isolation and XPS foam.

A piece of wood flooring that I cut to the right size, with some flooring isolation foam on it (the grey / black stuff), and some XPS foam that I roughly cut with a knife. A bit of PVA glue to stick all of that together, some wood filler to fill the biggest gaps and then:

A miniature terrain made of XPS foam and isolation foam, covered in black mod podge and sand.

A bit of black mod podge (mod podge with black paint), some sand over it, let it dry, then use some black spray paint, green spray paint, a bit of airbrushing with green paint, some A/B resin to simulate liquid, and boom done. 🙂
