I wanted to build something with small XPS bricks to host my Questors Soulsworns (Warhammer Age of Sigmar), and in the end I decided for a temple.
Here it is, finished on July 14th 2025:
Inspiration
I hesitated just to buy it but its scale was not right, and in the end I would also have done all the other steps (filler, XPS bricks…) by myself, so it was faster just to make a basic structure using foam core. However I love TTcombat mdf kits, they are great and cheap.
Last steps – July 13th 2025
- Paint job: airbrush red paints on roofs, yellow on walls (yeah I know, it disappeared later on, it was a disaster). Brown on wood and light grey overbrush on stones, followed by a darker grey drybrush.
- To conclude, a brown oil wash everywhere.
Actual state (July 12th 2025)
I added a few more wooden stir sticks, and a lot of small bricks that I carved in XPS. I covered all of that in mod podge (with added black paint) to protect and prime all that.
Actual state (July 11th 2025)
I glued most of the stuff with hot glue (and burnt 2 fingers in the meantime, because hot glue is… hot). I made the roof with shingles that I cut in a pizza box.

All the walls are in cheap foam core, all the wood came from the cheapest coffee stir sticks there is (80cts for 200…). The squared stuff that I used for windows is from a plastic sheet. I glued everything with VPA glue.
